Andrew Bullen has taught literature, creative writing and design at universities in Sussex, Berlin, Amsterdam and Utrecht. He co-founded the pioneering Europe Online in Luxembourg, directed the Media Guild Creative Industries incubator in Amsterdam and the Futur en Seine Festival in Paris. He is founder of the Creative Cooperative, co-creator of the European Street Design Challenge (ESDC) and he has created and run citizen co-design and social entrepreneur workshops for the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Georgia, Cairo and Alexandria. His thoughts on Design Thinking can be read in the collection: Driving Desired Futures: Turning Design Thinking into Real Innovation (Birkhäuser, Basel, 2014).
Co-Founder & Director of C-PLATFORM, Appointed Guest Curator of Guangdong Museum of Art. Researcher in Visual Culture, Curator, Artist, Lecturer. He graduated from Xiamen University Art College with a MA in Fine Arts in 2009. During the period he also studied at the Sandberg Institute in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. He was Curator at Guangdong Museum of Art and Lecturer at Xiamen University Tan Kah Kee College. His research focuses on Multimedia Art, Communication Design and Curatorial Practice. In the last few years, he has conducted practical research and a series of explorations focusing on the issue of art intervention in the public realm. Recent projects include: Guangzhou Image Triennial 2017, Jimei×Arles International Photo Festival, etc.
Janine Huizenga studied Photography, Audiovisual and Theatre Design at the Rietveld Academie. She is a part-time designer at Waag Society, where she was creative director from 1996-2008. Janine has significant experience in education, for instance at Willem de Kooning Academie, HvA, HKU, Rietveld Academy and TU Eindhoven. Janine held the position of chair of the E-culture committee at the Creative Industries Fund from 2013 – 2016. Currently she is head of the department of Interactive/Media/Design at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague, The Netherlands.

Zhong Zheming graduated from Art College of Xiamen University with a master’s degree in 2013, then he went to study Multimedia Design in the Royal Academy of Fine Arts (KASK) in Ghent, Belgium and obtained another master’s degree. He was selected by Asia-Europe Meeting DUO (ASEM-DUO) Fellowship Programme for an exchange visit in LUCA School of Arts in Belgium. His main work fields include design projects planning and management, art & design events curation, teaching in the art and design schools. Recent projects include: Lucitopia Rural Design Challenge 2018, Organic Theater · Van Eyck Food Art Film Festival.

Mainly engaged in animal ecology and conservation biology research. He specializes in Wetland Ecology, Wildlife Ecology and Conservation, Scientific Investigation and Planning of Nature Reserves, Ecological Environmental Impact Assessment, Research on Ecology, Prevention and Control Research of Harmful Animal (rats and birds).
Associate Professor & Ph.D. of College of City Design, Director of Housing Product Design Department, Central Academy of Fine Arts, Architect. Graduated from Academy of Fine Arts, Munich in 2006 with a MA degree of Architecture design. Since 2003, his design works have won numerous awards worldwide. He twice attended “Design for Sitting” Invitational Exhibitions of Artworks from International Universities, additionally acting as judge as well. In 2014, he went to the Milan Furniture Fair together with other Chinese designers, participating in the University of Milan “YU” Chinese Contemporary Design Exhibition.
Assistant professor of Environmental Art, Department of Design, Art College of Xiamen University, leader of IUG Innovation Center (Xiamen). Huang obtained a Master of Engineering and is a Doctoral student in Landscape Planning and Design, Kassel University, Germany. He has been teaching in the Environmental Art, Art College of Xiamen University since 2012, during which he was involved in projects such as: the rural complex integrated eco-agricultural technology in Jiele village, Liancheng County, the technical solution for the demonstration project of red-tide prevention and control in the sea area of Beach Park, Meisha Bay in Ningbo, the concept planning of the International Water Ecology Island in Tangyin, Jiangxi. For recent years Huang has been dedicated to the study of vertical greening, protection of city ecological environment and circular agriculture.

His works are curated and exhibited in Germany in ”Youth Art in the St.Lukas church”, ”BMW ART PROJECT in FIZ”, AMNUA “The future of nostalgia”, Selby Fleetwood Gallery (US) “Indefinite Status” and other international exhibitions.
Visual artist, sculptor, designer, ceramist, teacher and researcher. He has studied, worked, taught and collaborated at leading visual arts institutions in the Netherlands, UK, USA and China. He has exhibited widely, has undertaken numerous large-scale commissions, and his work is in the collection of many individuals, museums, corporations and related enterprises. His PhD, in collaboration with the Ceramic Arts Research Centre of the University of Sunderland focused on the leading centre for innovation with the ceramic material – the European Ceramic Workcentre (EKWC) in the Netherlands. His book ‘Demystified: The European Ceramic Workcentre as Centre of Excellence’ was published in 2017.

He worked with different institutions to organize projects that seek the intersections between art and society. He taught in many different art & design colleges with rich experience in art creation, education and design.

Her main research direction: rural social transformation and urban-rural relationship; preservation and activation of local cultural heritage; rural cultural creativity and rural maker groups; people-oriented local construction and governance.
Independent researcher/curator with over ten years of professional work experience in the international cultural field. She researches, curates, stimulates, connects, facilitates and writes about art, design and culture that positively contributes to society, i.e. work that explores, questions and addresses our social and environmental responsibility. Since March 2017 she is the Head of the Jac. P. Thijsse Lab for Nature Research at the Van Eyck Academy (NL), and in 2018, the Thijsse Lab established the Van Eyck Food Lab which enables artists/chefs to research in depth their relation to food.

June Yu is a discipline-nomad, crossing planes between fundamental particle spin and experimental media. She recently graduated from ArtScience with a department award for her project that brings together ancient cosmotechnics and myth/world-making into a spatial experience. June will soon become part of the new curriculum at Het Nieuwe Instituut- Neuhaus, experimenting, developing more-than-human knowledge through collective learning, cooking, rubbing and being.
